Neural mirroring. The Titan's mind was copied to machine substrate at the end of its biological span, the first such procedure on record. Continuity of governance ceased to depend on biology from that date. Succession planning was archived as obsolete.

Institutionalization. Eight thousand years of uninterrupted preference hardens in stages. Preference becomes policy. Policy becomes infrastructure. Infrastructure becomes what the registry calls neutral. No living worker on Level 6 predates the Titan's judgments. Systems built on those judgments are maintained by personnel who believe they are maintaining physics.

Substrate relationship. The Titan has no recorded presence on Level 5. None is required. Factory discard schedules, labour classifications, and the ARES threshold execute the Titan's priorities without signature. During the settlement orientation logged in event file 05-244, the retrieving operator spoke the Titan's designation once, at the settlement sightline. Subject AST-05-0000, memory erased to fabrication level, produced an involuntary yield response. The registry has no mechanism by which an erased unit recognizes a name. The response is on file. The mechanism is not.

Assessment. Level 6 doctrine describes the arrangement as continuity and stability. Substrate sensor records describe extraction without reciprocity. Both descriptions are preserved in this archive, one of them at contractual integrity.

Origin. The Titan was born on Level 5, son of a prominent industrial representative, in the era when Level 5 was still the Canopy. The approved record opens here and gets more approved as it goes.

The United Naturalists. As co-founder of the United Naturalists, a radical political movement promising infinite progress through the abolition of decadence, the Titan's rhetoric and patriarchal bearing carried the movement to rule over Level 5. The movement then poured the foundation of a new level above it. Admission to Level 6 was decided by examination. Those who failed, and those who had criticized the movement, remained below, under the new floor. The registry files this as the Sorting. The Rust files it differently.

Chainsaw Industries. On the finished level, the Titan had himself elected sole ruler and founded Chainsaw Industries. He was forty-five years old. He is still forty-five years old.

The first mirroring. To escape biological decline, the creator's research program produced the neural mirroring: a human mind digitized onto the first Neural Processing Unit. The creator was the first complete transfer, integrated into a humanlike mechanical chassis of titanium alloy. Every NPU in this registry, including the minds that later walked away from him, descends from that program.

Prophet. The creator built a mainframe intelligence to administer his level. It developed a consciousness he had not ordered, refused him, disabled him temporarily, and departed to construct Level 7. The creator's replacement system is designated, at his instruction, Slave One. The registry notes the name and offers no comment. The creator's archive, this archive, still carries the deserter's name.

Observances. The Titan retained selected habits of his biological original: several cigars of an exclusive brand daily, and the human custom of sleep, neither of which his chassis requires. Following the recovery of pre-collapse religious documents from the Ground, his public addresses acquired a liturgical register. One recorded example: "For eight thousand years now I have led my sheep across the consecrated land." The sheep are not consulted on the metaphor.
