What this site does with data, plainly.
The short version: no ads, no tracking, no analytics, no cookies. The terminal's conversation feature sends what you type in it to Google's Gemini service. The feedback form stores what you submit. Everything else is static files. The long version follows.

1. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps, operated by Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd. and Microsoft Corporation. When you visit any page, the hosting infrastructure technically processes your IP address, the requested URL, timestamp, browser type, and referrer in order to deliver the site and defend it against abuse. We do not receive, evaluate, or store these logs beyond what Microsoft's platform retains for operation and security. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in providing a secure website. Microsoft's privacy information: https://privacy.microsoft.com.
2. No cookies, no tracking
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, no advertising, no fingerprinting, and no social media embeds. Audio and images are served from this site's own hosting.
3. Local storage
The chapter reader stores one value in your browser's local storage: your chosen text size. It never leaves your device, identifies nobody, and can be cleared through your browser settings at any time.
4. Terminal conversations via Google Gemini
The site includes a fictional terminal. Its "linked channel" conversations (the LINK AERA and LINK PROM features) are generated by the Google Gemini API. When you send a message in such a channel:
- The text you typed, together with the recent conversation in that channel, is sent to our server function and forwarded to Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) for processing. This involves a transfer of data to the USA.
- Google processes the content under its Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Depending on the API tier in use, Google may retain prompts for abuse monitoring and, on the free tier, may use submitted content to improve its services, including human review. Treat everything you type into the terminal as visible to Google. Do not enter personal data, yours or anyone else's.
- We do not store your conversations. Our server function forwards them and returns the reply; it logs only technical failures, not conversation content.
- To prevent abuse and limit costs, our server keeps short-lived, in-memory request counters per IP address (per minute and per day). These counters are not written to disk, not linked to any other data, and disappear when the server instance restarts. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in protecting the service.
- Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, your consent, which you give by actively using the conversation feature after this notice; the terminal itself points here before first use. The transfer to the USA is based on your explicit consent per Art. 49 (1)(a) GDPR.
- If the feature is unconfigured or unreachable, the terminal answers from a built-in offline script and no data leaves the site.
5. Reader feedback
The combined feedback and contact form transmits exactly what you submit: an optional interest rating, optional wishes, an optional name, your message, an optional email address, and the page you submitted from. It is delivered to us as an automatically composed email through Microsoft 365 and is not stored anywhere else. The data is used only to reply and to gauge interest in the novel. The email address, if you provide one, is used only to reply or to send release updates. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR (consent, given by submitting) and, for enquiries aimed at a contract, Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR. We keep the email until the matter is dealt with, then delete it unless statutory retention applies.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; competent for us is the supervisory authority of Rhineland-Palatinate, Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz, though you may contact any EU supervisory authority.
7. Changes
This policy is updated when the site's features change. This version reflects the feature set as of July 2026: static content, terminal conversations via Google Gemini, and the combined feedback and contact form.
That is everything the site knows about you.
Which is, by design, almost nothing.
